The Blue Gold – Denim Film By Christian D Bruun

Denim sparks creativity not only in those who  manufacture  but also in people who are not related to the industry at all. Eg, Christian D Bruun  and Mark Romeo have been attracted enough to denim to make a full film on it and to have shot it all over the world.  They are  not in any way connected with the denim industry and I asked Christian why he is putting in the efforts to do this movie and he replied:

“We are fascinated by the fact that almost the entire world is wearing jeans today. The film is taking us through the world, history and cultural impact of jeans; from the underground to the runway. We have interviewed more than 100 people: designers, brands, technicians, historians, musicians, vintage dealers, manufacturers etc etc and we have shot all over the world. The film is a tribute to Blue Jeans everywhere! "

The film will be completed this summer and will be approximately 80 minutes in duration. Christian told me that the film would premiere at film festivals initially and later will be brought out for public view.

Here is a teaser from the film . It already has some interesting excerpts   including views from Adriano Goldschmied , counterfeit premium denim sellers, street vendors of denim and  shows the Japanese love  for  this primarily American product and more.. Looking at this small video one can be sure that the final film would be very interesting and a must watch for every denim professional and in fact every denim lover !.
