Kingpins and Bread & Butter Shows Next Week
January 15th, 2010 by Sandeep Agarwal | Filed under Denim Fairs/Exhibitions.Two important denim shows will take place next week – Kingpins and Bread & Butter .
Kingpins is an exclusive denim show where only invited exhibitors and visitors can participate. This show in New York will have about 26 exhibitors. The show limits the number of exhibitors deliberately to maintain the quality of the show. The show is held twice a year in New York and LA each . Besides it has recently expanded overseas with the first show in Hongkong which was a great success. Being an invite only show ,both the visitors and exhibitors get enough time to interact with each other well without needing to whet the antecedents of each other. This concept is really useful for both exhibitors and visitors and that is why some exhibitors gave rave reviews about the show . I am sure this edition of the show will also be successful and we shall learn more about denim trends for the next couple of seasons.
The Bread & Butter show came back to Berlin last year and was successful with over 567 brands, labels and designers present . From now on it will be held in Berlin only and the dates for the next show are Jan 20-22..
Buyers from the most important houses from all over the world were there, such as De Bijenkorf, Amsterdam; Flying A, Magasin du Nord, Copenhagen; Stadium, Stockholm; Eder, Kitzbühel; Sträuli, Zürich; Einwaller, Innsbruck; Stiefelkönig, Graz; VMC, Globus, Zürich; Printemps, Paris; Galeries Lafayette, Paris/Berlin; Block 60, Riccione; Slam Jam, Milan; Gerard Loft, Florence; El Corte Inglés, Spain; Beymen, Istanbul; Selfridges, London/Manchester; Brown Thomas, Dublin; Alife, Atrium, Macy’s, New York; Beam’s, United Arrows, Isetan, Tokyo; and many more..
The show hopes to do still better this time but the Managing Director of the show Karl-Heinz Müller says : “From now on, we will not publish our absolute visitor numbers anymore, visitor records are irrelevant. It is the quality of our exhibitors and visitors that comes first – and this is what we will continue to work on determinedly.”
