We are covering the denim import in Vietnam during June 2020.

COUNTRY WISE DENIM EXPORTS JUNE 2020

There are 8 major countries from where Vietnam imported approx. 99% of its total denim import. 82.42% of denim imported from China at an average price of $3.59/meter, other countries which are exporting denim to Vietnam include Turkey, Taiwan, Pakistan, and Japan. Vietnam imported 6.2 million meters of denim during June 2020 at an average price of $3.60/meter.

Note: This figure is likely to be much higher as the full data is normally not captured in the figures received from various authorities.

Italy exported the denim at the most expensive average price of $5.26/meter and Thailand exported at the cheapest average price of $2.57/meter.

Leading Fabric Buyers

So far as the leading denim buyers are concerned, During the month of June 2020, the top four denim buyers are as below:

1. PPJ: Total denim was bought by PPJ was 1.07 million meters at an average price of $3.23/m. ZAOZHUANG HIYOUNG DYNASTY TEXTILE, H.W. TEXTILES, YIXING LUCKY G & L DENIM, JINAN FREEDOM TEXTILES, and Advance Denim are the main suppliers for PPJ.

2. GATEXIM: Total denim was bought by Gatexim was 7.64 lacs meters at an average price of $3.23/meter. E.8 DENIM HOUSE LLC, ORTA ANADOLU, PROSPERITY TEXTILE (HK) are the major suppliers to Gatexim.

3. YDVL: YDVL bought 6.51 lacs meters at an average price of $4.39/meter. All fabric was bought from Crystal Apparel Limited, China.

4. NIEN HSING GARMENT: The company imported 4.95 lacs meter at an average price of $4.3/meter. All the fabrics were bought from NIEN HSING TEXTILE (CHINA) and TEXHONG FASHION INDUSTRIAL LIMITED(TAIWAN).

The importance of Vietnam is going to increase over next few years as the effect of FTA with Europe becomes more visible and import duties into EU become zero. We are going to see more and more exports from Vietnam in the coming years. Would be interesting to watch the details in 2021 !
