Cowboy

Sustainable Denims

Sustainable is a collection based on recycled cotton and other natural fibers. Soorty is working hard to reduce waste, energy and water to produce a high quality denim fabric which is least harmful to the environment. Street fighter

They say the language of street is different. You have to cover your self with different identities to guard your real personality. aIn these two presentations, we are putting up the Leviâ€™s and Wrangler Fall Winter 13/14 Look books .

Leviâ€™s lookbook pertains to their vintage collection inspired by all things 60s â€“ from soulful Motown to West Coast hippies .Â The fact that Leviâ€™â€™s has been around for a long time, it enables them to recreate the trends which were there few decades back and present in a contemporary setting.

As we already mentioned, Denim by PV show is being held at Shanghai for the first time . Over 40 companies â€“ many of whom are reputed denim mills from around the worldÂ â€“ are presenting their collections at the show.Â One of the few companies from South Asia to participate in the show is Soorty Denim.Â Here is a brief on the collection that they will present at the show.Â Before that , letâ€™s see what the design team of Soorty have to say about this collection.

Full of Polka, snake, paisley, stars and a whole lot of other patterns inÂ both durable and washable prints in its printedÂ denim collection. The company also creates new patterns of demand.

Rigid and Stretch fabrics.

Alloys is a result of conventional denim elements amalgamated to form a denim fabric with extraordinary visual phenomenon. Soorty calls it a â€œsorcerer’s stoneâ€ of all fabrics. Denim fabric is treated with three key elements to form a fabric which reveals a different color on scraping and washing. This collection has deep dark denim fabrics, adopting an over dyeing technique which is innovative and attractive.

Traveler is a collection of water and stain repellent fabrics. This collection was inspired by
modern day travelers who wants to explore different parts of world without any worries

Wool denim is a premium fabric collection. It is a blend of wool and cotton. It provides a comfort and warmth of wool and comfort of cotton.

Bossa Autumn Winter 13/14 Denim Collections
Bossa is a reputed manufacturerr ofÂ in Turkey and produces over 40 million mtrs of denim p.a .Â For its Fall/ Winter 13 Collection the company has come out with three concepts :
1. Ultranero : The Ulimate Black Denim.
2. Hyberblue : The Super Dark Blue
3. Eden : Recycled Cotton Denim
Letâ€™s have a look at these three concepts.

Ultranero â€“ The Ultimate Black Denim

“After 6 months of development trials, we are pleased to announce the launch of our Ultranero concept , a ground breaking approach to producing ultimate black jean that stays truly black , even after 40 home washes and beyond. BossaÂ has created a unique process that combines the use of special dyestuffs and processes along with a specially devised technique for finishing the fabric. The result is an intense black shade of denim that holds its color for the life of the jeans. â€ â€“ says Bossa product development team

bringing the black denim back into focus .

HyperblueÂ – The Super Dark Blue

Bossa claims to have created the darkest shades ever supporting diferent treatments and technical specifications . Here is what their Research and Development Manager â€“ SedefÂ Uncu Aki has to say for Hyperblue .

â€œIt took 9 months of hard work and experimentation , 19 slow and steady dips into the baths of pure indigo and finally Hyperblue emerges as the deepest , darkest shade of indigo. For true denim afficionado , the raw and rinse washes give an almost black blue of indigo that will gracefully and beautifully age over time. For the vintage lover , the deep rich color comes to life with heavy vintage washing that highlights the brilliant color contrast. For the environmentally conscious, ozone or lazer applications will create striking results .And for the technically minded, Hyperblue also has excellent crocking properties , despite the deep shade.â€

Eden â€“ Recycled Cotton Denim

The third concept from Bossa has an environmental orientation based on the concept of recycling of yarns , fabrics and garments â€“ back into Denim â€¦Gulperi Erkanli â€“ Marketing Manager says

Â â€œCotton and fabric waste can be produced at every stage of manufacturing and we have developed techniques to enable us to capture and recycle this waste. At the start of the process, bales of cotton are opened and turned into slivers. Broken yarns and slivers during this stage are set aside to be recycled. During the Rope Dyeing process, some ropes cannot make it to second stage of manufacturing due to dye saturation. Such ropes are also set aside .Finally , the waste of denim fabrics from apparel makingÂ is also collected . It is estimated that 15% of denim fabrics from apparel making ends up as wasteâ€.

All these wastes are sent to a recycling facility where a shredder reduces the pieces of fabrics , ropes and yarns into fibrous form. The recycled cotton fibre is then rebaled to go back to EDEN – Bossa’s new spinning mill exclusively for recycled yarns and process begins all over. There are two features of fabric thus made :
- BecauseÂ the recycled cotton is made from indigo dyed yarns and fabric, it is already blue in colour, so after rope dyeing, the fabric takes on a richer indigo hue.
- Recycled cotton has a slubbier character which gives added texture and dimension to the fabric.
