Super Torn Jeans

Distressing on the jeans has been in vogue for quite some time and continues to be used in various degrees across a spectrum of brands. But the degree of distressing is very important for most brands and their customers. Distressing beyond a degree becomes tearing and even such harsh work on the jeans can be mitigated with back patches . However, if a jeans is just super torn revealing a lot of flesh inside, how many females can be bold enough to carry such jeans ?? Hardly many.. But when celebrities come out in such jeans its gala time for paparazzi and provide fodder for denim designers.

Kim Kardashian comes out in one of such super torn jeans . Does she carry them well ? For us, its not one of the best looks on distressed jeans that we have seen.

She also puts up milder versions of distressing , which seem much more fashionable than the super torn jeans above.

Kristen Stewart wore HUDSONâ€™s Five Pocket Skinny Jeans in Black in Australia recently. Stewart, better known as Bella, was with costar Taylor Lautner doing a press tour in Australia for the next installment of the Twilight Saga.
Actress Jennifer Aniston was recently seen wearing HUDSON Straight Leg jean in Purdy after leaving the spa two weeks ago in Los Angeles. The jeans feature silver buttons and rivets and Hudson’s signature back flap pockets.
Last week, Rihanna looked nothing short of red as she left Philippe Chow in Los Angeles with boyfriend Matt Kemp. The 22-year-old â€œTe Amoâ€ singer paired her bright red sweater with a pair of HUDSON Collection Darted Skinny Jeans in Sun Bleach. Rihanna topped off her look with black heels for a perfect date night look.
And there’s Emma Watson, one of the stars of Harry Potter, who wore HUDSON’s Cuffed Five Pocket Short in Boyle paired with a corset top and black wellies to the Glastonbury festival this past weekend. Be sure to look out for Watson in the Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows due to come out this November!

Denim trend – Boyfriend Jeans

This trend started late last year when some celebrities like Katie Holmes started to put on the jeans of their boyfriend (Tom Cruise). Others like Victoria Beckham were not to be left behind and followed up by wearing the jeans of their own boyfriends/hubbies.

The trend does not necessarily mean that girls should wear the jeans of their boyfriends . But the jeans have some characteristics which set them apart from other jeans like Skinny,Wide legged etc.

1. The jeans are loose and baggy – but not ill fitting.
2.They are ususally distressed but not necessarily so.
3.They are rolled up at the helms so that the feet are visible .
4.Usually worn with fancy high heeled sandals .
5. The jeans are usually worn by young girls.

Victoria Beckham sues Rock and Republic – lessons for Celebrity denim labels

The trendy posh spice Victoria Beckham, has sued the denim brand Rock & Republic for USD 100 million.
Victoria was engaged by Rock and Republic in 2004 to endorse their denim brand. Subsequently, she broke with them and started her own label – DvB denim . However, the label has not been faring too well recently . On the other hand, the Rock and Republic line that she had endorsed seems to have done very well. And, Victoria feels that Rock and Republic should pay her USD 100 million for additional profits earned(which seems quite ridiculous)..
Here is a lesson to be learned by the celebrities the world over – who are following this trend of launching their denim label to encash their celebrity status. The celebrities have to understand that Denim is a specialised product and those who do not understand it , should not jump into it. Their hundreds and thousands of labels available and the customers need a very strong reason ,besides their name, to buy the label. Initial crowds can be drawn on the basis of celebrity image but sales cannot be sustained on the same.
Another example of Paige Premium Denim would be very appropriate here. Adams Geller was a famous model who endorsed denim labels like 7 for all Mankind, True Religion and made them popular . She then launched her own label – Paige Premium – and made it successful. The reason was that Adams Geller thoroughly understood denim,its customers requirements,fit issues and most of all SHE WAS IN LOVE WITH DENIM. Her celebrity status must have made initial things easier for her,but it was her passion about Denim which made the label successful.
So, all the celebrities out there- I hope you are listening. Don’t just follow the herd and launch a Denim label.
