Tight Alright Denims By Cheap Monday

Tight Denim – name of the new collection which has been unveiled recently by this Swedish clothing label- Cheap Monday for both men and women.

Basically the company is promoting its super skinny super stretch denims under the collection Tight Denims . The silhouette shall be released in twenty-three finishes, including five in all organic inline, as the brand develop their journey toward sustainability.

The company also launched #TightAlright campaign under which the people are requested to share their #TightAlright on the FB and each week a panel of judges will select three winners who will each receive a Cheap Monday outfit: one pair of Cheap Monday jeans, one top and one accessory. At the end of the month, a Grand Prize winner will be selected for a trip for two to London including airfare, hotel and a shopping allowance at the Cheap Monday. About Cheap Monday

Cheap Monday is a Swedish clothing label. It was founded in 2000 by Orjan Andersson and Adam Friberg, originally as a second-hand clothing store, in a suburb of Stockholm. The clothes started selling on March 10, 2004, and from the beginning in only one store called Weekday. The name of the brand originates from the fact that the original store was only open on Sunday. The brand is known for their idiosyncratic designs, and has expanded from their original focus on jeans to include sneakers, flannel, and shirts.

Alternative grunge looks , punk elements ,Â huge prints are some of the key features of Cheap Monday SSâ€™15 Collection. Already famous for their experimentation with denim, the brand pushes the envelope further with some flashy punkish elements . TheÂ missing denim fabric is some of their pieces takes distressing and tears to another level. Grunge looks are accentuated using rips, dyes, striped socks , etchings, scribbles and more. Cheap Monday Fall Winter 2014 Collection

The opposing youth are eager for change, and the conflict between the playful and serious has been an inspiration for the prints as well as the denimÂ collection. Raw, heavy denim and inverted denim are prominent throughout the collection. Texture is important with crinkled jersey, fleece, leatherette, pleated chiffon and jersey as well as clear sequins on knits, flannel, denim and jersey.Â There is a clean seriousness to the look with more sombre colours. A faux knot detail is used to shape the garments on denim dresses, blouses, jersey and sweat. A knotted reflective backpack and puffer bags to match the collection. The rough, smudgy and random versus the clean and crisp play an important role for the denim as well, where greys and blue blacks, rips and bleach clash with constructed crisp twills and square shapes on white coatings. A new mid-rise skinny fit is introduced in â€œPrimeâ€, as well as a new denim jacket â€œikonâ€.

SS’ 14 Looks from Cheap Monday
For Spring 2014, Cheap Monday playsÂ with the idea of hubris and makes inflatable egos visible through an exaggerated silhouette and narcissistic graphics. The collection is confident with an in-your-face aesthetic and kick-ass attitude, channeling bold artists from the 90s.

A decisive street look from that time period emphasizes this new direction. Patchwork has an important place in the collection.Â Seasonal key colours are black, white and grey marl, where prints play an important part. Spring/Summer 2014 certainly has a subdued palette with emphasis on such colors.Gone are the bright pastel colors that marked previous SS collections.Â The cut is a lot more relaxed whilst maintaining the clean lines that the brand has come to be known for. The Spring 2014 Collection consists of three themes;
- Exaggerated Silhouette
- Fragmented Reality
- Buffalo Riot.
Exaggerated Silhoutte features egocentric prints, intarsia text, fat stripes and contrasting silhouettes. Fragmented Reality is defined by collage prints, prints on prints, patchwork looks, cut-outs, large details and gold.
More is more is the motto for the final theme, Buffalo Riot. Tribal style lettering in prints and graphics, a bright palette and color coatings make up the themeâ€™s cartoonish aesthetic and strong street vibe. As a whole, the Cheap Monday Spring 2014 Collection makes no apologies and embraces the narcissim of our age, while it at the same time pays homage to the orginal mes, myselves and Is.
