A Look At G Star Raw Exclusive Collection
Introducing the new season’s Exclusives, G Star launched a fresh take on denim & natural fibers, with emphasis on mostly rigid Japanese selvedges Indigos and ecru denim. Jackets offer a detachable liners for that extra value . The detailing in the jeans is great and helps to understand the efforts going into the making .

GSRR TRIPLE A STRAIGHT JEANS

The GSRR Triple-A jeans offer a new, yet timeless fit that’s sitting higher on the body with a regular straight leg from the thigh down. This pair of jeans is designed with 6 pockets, whereas the coin pocket is placed concealed and an additional back pocket is created inside.

Its rich ecru selvedge denim is contrasted by black pocket linings, gloss-black shank buttons and black interior chain-stitching. As well as a silicone grip print in the waistband.

GSRR SELVEDGE DENIM JACKET

Selvedge denim jacket GSRR offers a detachable liner. Both can be worn solely as well. Snaps at the back neck and lower sleeve attach both pieces together. The jacket has deep chest pockets with a flap and incorporated side pockets. A graphic printed stripe is applied to the upper body and sleeves. The liner shows a woven tape detail at the neck and has a wrap-around tape belt. An inner pocket is added.

MATERIAL

ATAMI SELVEDGE DENIM

This style is cut from a 3×1 right-hand Japanese twill denim with a selvedge, where the raw edges are finished with a binding. A dual-layered cropped jacket of 11oz Japanese selvedge denim, inspired by a lightweight battle-dress jacket from the 1930s. The detachable 100% linen chambray liner with raw-edge details, doubles as a shirt. The liner shows a woven tape detail at the neck and has a wrap-around tape belt. An inner pocket is added.

A two-piece sleeve provides a more refined shape than a one-piece sleeve. The extra seam is an added shaping opportunity, as it offers twice as many seams to adjust for a better fit.
E 3301 OVERSIZED BOYFRIEND JACKET

The E version of the 3301 oversized denim jacket is based on a classic constructed denim jacket, executed in a roomy, oversized fit. The woven tape is caught by belt loops at the side and offers a carabiner closure with an adjuster to create the preferred width. Embroidered graphics are added to the collar point and the lower backside. A leather patch is placed just below. This E 3301 jacket shows additional printed designs on the lower sleeve and on the inside.

E JANEH ULTRA HIGH MOM ANKLE JEANS

This E-version of the Janeh jeans offers a rough printed graphic at the hip on faded denim with destroying details and a worn-in aesthetic. The Janeh jeans are designed with the late ’80s in mind. The American moms wore jeans that are slightly wider around the hips and featured a high waist. The coin pocket is integrated with the waistband to create a hidden pocket.

GSRR SCUTAR 3D TAPERED JEANS

The GSRR Scutar 3D jeans are designed in a tapered fit. Tabs are set alongside the leg, offering a tighter fit when preferred. These jeans are designed with concealed coin pockets, one at the inside waistband and the other is set just above one of the back pockets. An additional inner pocket is created at the backside pocket. A hanger loop is added to the waistband and the button fly offers a panel.

Inspired by nature and how nature does not produce any waste, G-Star RAW collaborated with Italian Denim Mill Candiani to create a denim fabric with the worldâ€™s first regenerative indigo dye concept. This means that the waste from the indigo dyeing process is designed to become a fertilizer for the agricultural industry.
E ALUM RELAXED TAPERED PM JEANS

The E version of the Alum jeans combines authentic denim with durable synthetic by adding panels at the front leg. A small tool pocket is placed at the side and offers snap closure. The front panels are reinforced with rough stitch work across the upper legs.

G-Star RAW Research III by Aitor Throup–First Foray Into Womenswear

Likewise each season, G-Star RAWÂ has unveiled its 3rd Installment of Raw Research, led by Atior Throup ( Executive Creative Director), which is schedule to arrive on December 15 at selected concept stores worldwide, such as L.A.â€™s FourTwoFour on Fairfax, H. Lorenzo, Dover Street Market in Tokyo and SSENSE. This lot is special as it has , unlike previous two editions, included the womenâ€™s range for the first time.

With an objective to redefine conventional denim , the research has brought some amazing innovations on the table by deconstructing it to its purest form: undyed, unwashed and untreated raw denim.Â A 20-piece menâ€™s and womenâ€™s undyed calico collectio was presented .The focus product isÂ SPRIAQ JEAN â€” a moulded garment thatâ€™s engineered around the leg to deliver a perfect 3D fit. The difference is that hte jeans does not have 2 panels like in traditional jeans but is one complete piece wrapped around boths sides of the leg in a spiral formation.

The Raw Research lab is experimenting with fabrics and styles in a unique way. Unique addons in this collection include Straps, Detachable hoods, Large back pockets in jackets and totally oversized fits. Whether these styles would add to functionality or not , we are not sure, but they will surely a big military kind of gear to put on !

G Star Sustainable Jeans In Collaboration With Archroma

G Star Raw has recently collaborated with Archroma and introduced a new capsule collection of denim colored usingÂ Archromaâ€™s earthcolors, a range of dyes made from recycled plant waste. Archromaâ€™s EarthColors range recently came to public attention for being the Gold Winner of the OutDoor Industry Award 2017, Sustainable Innovations category.

The company developed EarthColors using non-edible waste products, from agriculture and herbal industries, to replace petroleum derived raw materials; which are the conventional raw materials used to synthesize dyes currently. This gives brands an alternative when looking for more natural ways of dyeing garments. The threeÂ colors available in the capsule collection: â€˜Dark Plumâ€™, â€˜Asfaltâ€™ and â€˜Mazarine Blueâ€™, are made from the non-edible parts of beetroot and saw palmetto, left over from agriculture industry or herbal extraction.

G-Star Raw : The Staq(ck)ing Effect !
G-Star is always at the helm of technology development and creative applications in the denim industry. Some of the most innovative looks have emanated from the brand. This time its the STAQ(CKI)NG EFFECT IN JEANS !. It continues to modernize its denim range with the creative consultancy of innovative designer and visual artist, Aitor Throup. The G-Star RAW Autumn/Winter ’15 collection

G-Star RAW introduces its latest womenâ€™s and menâ€™s collection for Autumn/Winter 2015. This season G-Star created a selection inspired by archival motorcycle and military wear, made to modern fits and cut from durable materials. Puffer coats, top coats, and leather jackets create the smart dress look going along withÂ looking cool . G-Star introduces an updated version of the icon 5620 3D Zip Elwood inspired by the pants used in GP motorcycle racing circa 1960â€™s (the era of Mike Hailwood). Available in both menâ€™s and womenâ€™s versions, the black jeans are resin-coated, baked and then heavily washed-down â€“ a treatment that pays tribute to Morissetâ€™s original inspiration. G-Star Fall Winter 2014 Women’s Lookbook

Itâ€™s Dark, Darker and Darkest !!. For Autumn/Winter 2014 women collection, G-Star is putting a spotlight on dark denim. Womenâ€™s pieces in deep blacks are offered in a range of coatings and finishes. By varying black textures and materials, timeless style is easy to achieve â€“ as per G-Star. The dark denim have also been complemented by refined lustrous denims made from fine yarns in compact constructions. G-Star have always been great at handling dark denims and giving that refined classy look while using a wide variety of washing techniques on these denims. What we like about G-Star is their ability to make even an odd style like wide legs to come out looking elegant.

G-Star Raw Mazarine Collection

With RAW Mazarine G-Star goes beyond the modern history of denim, unveiling the denim roots which go way further back than American workwear. Inspired by Toile de Chine, G-Star designed a range of double-dyed denim styles with an intense blue colour. Double dyed means that, unlike denim today, both the warp and the weft of the fabric are dipped in indigo. Since there are no real samples of Toile de Chine anymore, the G-Star denim designers reconstructed the initial colour. Toile de Chine is a particular fabric weave from the far East. It was imported into Europe and used to create some of the workwear in Europe. It was a tight weave and very durable. It made it a right choice for intense labor work as it did not stain due to both warp and weft being colored . And , of course , it was in Indigo. Its tough weave and durability made it an appropriate choice for the intense labor work.

G-star took all aspects including the number of dips in indigo, the tightness of the weaving, and fading experiments. That is also why none of RAW Mazarine fabric is alike and has multiple shades; it reflects the research conducted to recreate this fabric.
