    Fashion Is For Older Men Also – Junya Watanabe Proves With His Fall 2019 Collection

    Fashion doesn’t have any age and it has never been entangled under any predetermined or pre-defined rules.  Breaking the stereotypes as always, Junya Watanabe,the famous Japanese Designer, recently launched his new Fall 2019 Menswear collection with a very subtle message through tag line – Silver Swagger. The launch of collection got to see many senior models aged more than 50 years with loads of swag, ethos and panache walk down the ramp. Junya proves with this collection that men in their later years not have to chose between simplicity or oddity when trying to go on the denim fashion road. Most of the collection is elegant even with patches , designed turnups while some of them are bit experimental . It must have been a treat to watch the models go on the ramp with this collection.     The collection features mostly denim pants and few denim jackets in different fits including slim, wide leg and comfort fit. Denim-Non Denim Patchwork with classic designs on Denim Pants relive 90’s nostalgia while denim trousers with colored bottom edges could be a good pick for contemporary street style lovers .     Junya Watanabe SS 19 Collection

    Famous Japanese Fashion Designer- Junya Watanabe, has recently unveiled its SS’19 collection which has very artistic flavor and has been beautifully aligned with contemporary denim fashion. It juxtaposes 90’s of rock n roll fashion with classic & vintage fashion of late 50’s. The patchworks and asymmetric denim arrangements which are somehow forte of every Japanese Fashion Designer, can be seen in Junya Watanabe’s collection with some very amazing artistic approach. Junya Watanabe is known for his innovative and technologically advanced designs that show an appreciation of avant-garde cutting. Watanabe has been called a ‘techno couture’ and is renowned for keeping pure lines and stark shapes.

    The collection featured funky patchwork dresses and top coats, ‘50s-inspired circle skirts, deconstructed ball gowns and lingerie slips sewn into denim overalls and classic white tees along with the asymmetric use of different fabrics along with denim, differentially washed denim pieces in a single garment construction and colorful non-denim patches.

  • Junya Watanbe Spring/ Summer 2015 Collection

    As a part of the Paris Fashion week held recently , the Japanese designer Junya Watanabe presented his forthcoming Spring/Summer 2015 collection . The collection was a visual treat as the designer used exaggerated patchworks, 50s inspired coifs to , mostly, slouchy and cropped jeans. Denim Patchwork jackets  incorporate a mix of fabrics including florals, stripes, plain cotton fabrics to create that ,one of the most , subtle patchwork looks seen in such designs. That Denim on  denim trend is strong , can be easily understood from his collection. Sashiko Stitching and geometric patterns in sewing  can be predominantly viewed   on many of his  jeans . The collection was ALL BLUE with either denim on denim aspects or indigo dyed t-shirts combined with the jeans.
    This retro-modern collection revives 50s styles  embraces the versatility and durability of the most well known modern textile material – denim .
