The\u00c2\u00a0 BBB Jeans fair<\/strong> (July 2009) was a great success regarding the number of visitors coming from all parts of the world.<\/p>\n

But,the question is still of it was a fair for designers and photographers are where there so many buyers !!.<\/p>\n

The layout of the stands were excellent made and well organised and generally many colours could be seen<\/strong>!!!!<\/p>\n

Here is a brief note on some of the denim brands that were present there.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

LEE:<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n

-garments with holes ,,,,,, no pressing<\/strong><\/p>\n

-unwashed<\/strong><\/p>\n

-old and vintage look<\/strong><\/p>\n

-bigger back pockets!!!! And low positioning<\/strong><\/p>\n

-loose fit<\/strong><\/p>\n

-back is the bib overall<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

101 CONCEPT:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

-Ring\/Ring fabrics , The fabrics were japanese – from Kurabo!! <\/strong><\/p>\n

-Dark and medium washed<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

WRANGLER:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

-Labels are bigger and colour full<\/strong><\/p>\n

-Garments are more even,,,,, dark and medium washed (14OZ)<\/strong><\/p>\n

-No pressing just blowing<\/strong><\/p>\n

-Very few with dirty wash look<\/strong><\/p>\n

LEVI\u00e2\u20ac\u2122S<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

-Black denim for 501——-normal washes !!!!dark\/medium\/bleached<\/strong><\/p>\n

-Bleached with holes!!!!<\/strong><\/p>\n

-Loose fit<\/strong><\/p>\n

-Unwashed. I have the impression that Levi\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s is moving away from the extreme washes.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

-many colours and coarse stitching on the back pockets and embroidery<\/p>\n

Similar\u00c2\u00a0 trend<\/span>s I found in brands – COLLIN\u00e2\u20ac\u2122S <\/strong>and MAVI jeans<\/strong> (turkey)<\/p>\n

garments.<\/p>\n

Only brands made by ADRIANO GOLDSCHMIED<\/strong> you find the extreme washes!!!<\/p>\n

Denim Fabric Trends Noticed:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. I have the impression that the most manufactures put more ATTENTION again to the fabric for sure 14OZ<\/strong>!!!<\/li>\n
  2. The flamed denim<\/strong> is still in collection (inherent to ring yarns)<\/li>\n
  3. Also crosshatch fabrics<\/strong> (R\/R) more expensive fabrics are used more<\/li>\n
  4. DEEP DYEING<\/strong> and PURE indigo<\/li>\n
  5. Shrink to Fit<\/strong> Fabric is becoming HOT. <\/span>It is weft stretch denim which is not sanforized and has a residual shrinkage of 15% in weft and 15% in warp.Elasticity is about 20-30% . Such fabric was made in the Eighties\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    A Note On TRC<\/span> \u00e2\u20ac\u201c (Denim Mill From Italy)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    TRC PROPOSED The\u00c2\u00a0 Selvedge Denim…<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Woven on the old Picanol president loom( anno 70 _80)<\/li>\n
    2. Shuttle loom (unifill) width of fabric 75 cm<\/li>\n
    3. Speed of loom :15O picks\/min VERY SLOW<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Same concept was noticed at PH7<\/span> -Japanese brand<\/strong>– handcrafted…<\/p>\n

      CONCLUSION<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Everyone was a little bit nervous for the further evolution and result AND hoping that after TWO years the economy should improve!!<\/p>\n

      BUT now they all should try to overcome the 2 difficult years!! HOW ??<\/p>\n

      Note for Denim Companies :<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      1. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT to present the Fabric in LEG form<\/strong> and washed very well( different washes).<\/li>\n
      2. Back pocket on the leg<\/strong> to see the contrast<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        This makes the fabric more attractive FOR PRESENTATION.<\/p>\n

        Here are some photographs I shot from the fair which show some of the trends noticed at the fair. Specially , notice the large pockets on some of the jeans .<\/p>\n
