Daniel Silverstain Pre-Fall 2016

Daniel Silverstain, an Israeli designer based in New York City exploring textiles and natural forms in an era of hi-technology and industrialism, expanded on his premise of multi-functionality. His designer apparels prominently focuses on the future which is very apparent in her creations.Â Daniel’s creations aim for innovation, essentiality and futurism.

A silver puffer and denim coat, for example, featured removable denim sleeves, while a jacquard top had an adjustable hem â€” wear it as a micro-mini dress or a tunic. Still in its infancy, the two-year-old labelâ€™s future depends upon developing his relaxed utilitarian aesthetic beyond adjustable garments.

H&M Green And Conscious Exclusive collection

The Eco Sustainability is the need of hour which has been well understood by the Denim Industry. Consequently , everyday new efforts are being made to ensure the sustainability and the very recent development is that the Swedish clothing company ,H&M, is moving into sustainable fashion . This Retail powerhouse H&M has taken this very innovative initiative on a much larger scale than expected .

Eco Sustainability has been a focus for H&M for some time now. A few years back H&M started the initiative to recycle used garments .The company had rolled out a global garment recycling program in which anyone can donate their clothing and in return of that the company will give a token discount of 15% in a form of voucher which can be used by the donor on the next purchase. To collect the cloths, the bins are placed near the cash registers to prevent any ambiguity. Stores accept any clothing irrespective of brands.

H&M has been collecting more than fourteen thousand tons of clothing since 2013. Once the cloths are collected , they are sent for further processing and classifications. Clothing which found to be very much worn are reused as cleaning cloths and otherwise. Sometimes they are also recycled into raw materials for new products. Those clothing which can be possibly worn again are sold at second hand stores. New collections are being designed with these old clothes .

Sixteen new denim styles for men, women and children made from recycled cotton collected in H&M’s Garment Collecting initiative were recently introduced at stores. The items include jeans, jackets, joggers, zip-up hoodies, joggers and jumpsuits.

H&M Conscious Exclusive collection

After collaborating with the MusÃ©e des Arts DÃ©coratifs, located in the Palais du Louvre in Paris,the chain is set to celebrate the new H&M Conscious Exclusive collection.The new H&M Conscious Exclusive Collection features organic materials,recycled wool, Tencel, and recycled sequins.The whole collection is dreamy and showcases gorgeous prints, elegant dresses and versatile separates. The natural color palette ties perfectly with the environmental theme of the range.Some of its apparel is created from recycled worn clothes â€“ many coming through its collection of customersâ€™ unwanted garments. For its Close The Loop collection, recycled fibers from shredded unwanted clothes are blended with organic yarns to produce durable denim.Continuing the sustainability is fashionable theme, H&M have created sustainable glamour via their Ambassador, Actress Olivia Wilde who is known for her efforts for a sustainable environment.

The range shall be launched at MusÃ©e des Arts DÃ©coratifs located in the Palais du Louvre in ParisÂ onÂ Thursday 7th April to coincide with the opening of the hotly anticipated exhibition, Fashion forward.

J Brand Spring Summer 2016 Lookbook

The main message that one gets from J Brand SS16 lookbook is that LINEN IS IN . â€œLinen is a huge message for us,â€ said Bruno â€“Head of Design- at J Brandâ€™s spring presentation. â€œItâ€™s not a very stable yarn but the technology has changed so you can use it to do denim.â€
J Brand seeks to tackle the hot summer with cool indigo dyed and plain white linens in chambrays and very light weights. Skinny jeans, baby flares, some sexy briefs , bandeaux tops , indigo gowns etc are all part of the seasonâ€™s collection.

Chloé Spring/Summer 2016 Paris Fashion Week

French design house Chloe brought sporty chic to the catwalk on Thursday, presentingÂ floor-sweeping skirts for women’s wardrobes next spring.Creative director Clare Waight Keller sent models out in indigo, burgundy and beige sporty tops and trousers, slit below the ankle, as she presented Spring/Summer 2016 collection at Paris Fashion Week.

Keller had interesting takes on denim: usually shorts and skirts tied with drawstring and frayed at the edges. For her SSâ€™16 collection, she took inspiration from 1990s looks. .SS16, however, was still a very western, grunge-era look, and one that brought out ChloÃ©â€™s glory years under Stella McCartney.

DSQUARED2 MENSWEAR SPRING SUMMER 2016 MILAN

Twin designers Dean and Dan Caten are bringing a playful collection that ran on the crest of camp . The theme for Dsquared was baggy denims , surfer mixed with leather shorts and leggings and some oversized anorak jackets. Denim Jackets were mainly bleached out paired with bold baller mesh tops bonded to sleeveless white tees. .

The Milan Fashion week ramp walk played to the theme of play with nomadic attitude bringing to fore the life of a charismatic man, whoâ€™s never afraid to explore a new and bold idea of style. The , pseudo , tattoos on the hands added some more zing to the attitude together with some zany flame bleached out jeans and jackets. . On the whole a very playful collection â€“ though a bit weird !

Alexander McQueen Womenswear Spring Summer’16 Runway Looks

A profound respect for the artisanal makes craftsmanship the heart of the house of Alexander McQueen and the collection for Spring/Summer 2016 looks to the people of Spitalfields from the late 17^th century, the Huguenot migrants who arrived in London as religious refugees. They brought with them their knowledge, skill in weaving and a love of naturalistic floral designs inspired by â€œThe Line of Beautyâ€ philosophy.

Thereâ€™s a bohemian elegance to the McQueen woman this season as Sarah Burton draws on the roots and myths of English folklore to bring together the mood of the collection. Burton has also been exploring consistently the idea of heirlooms and found objects. Garments too carry history and hence feel precious and the collection has been finished and treated with a tactile hand, so that materials and surfaces feel aged and familiar.

The people of London’s Spitalfields from the late 17th Century and the Huguenot migrants who arrived as religious refugees were the starting point for Burton, they brought with them a skill in weaving and floral design. Those artisanal crafts were mined to the hilt; along with a love of folklore and the idea of heirloom. Fabrics looked aged and decayed, from gentle frays in the surface of washed silk gowns to jeans with exaggerated cuffs that were shredded to the extreme.

It was bohemian in parts, exotic in others – those Indian-mirrored ivory frock coats being the best example. Denim jeans, mainly selvedge,Â were highly destructed and then paired with floral designed Indian coats to make up for the destruction!.

A.P.C. Spring 2016 Ready To Wear Collection

They call me the king of basics,â€ Jean Touitou said with a laugh at the APC presentation .And he is rightly called so because of the simple cuts and looks that most of his pieces have.

Overalls were the main focus of his denim collection as he played around with different looks and even pairing similar fabrics for tops and bottoms. The smocks, the well cut trench etc rounded out the collection. A bit of stripe denims here and there and some odd 80s pairing of shirts and shorts in similar fabric color completed the denim looks. The brand does not experiment much and remains more basic â€“ as Jean Touitou says !

Marques’ Almeida

Frayed denim seems to be the theme for Marques Almeida to bring out the elegance in in the . Floor sweeping denim overcoats underlined the focus on the draping with denims.

Faustine Steinmetz

Faustine Steinmetz , the French designer , employs meticulous artisan skills to hand woven collection of highly distressed (and knotted) denim pieces. Each fabric by Faustine is solely handwoven by one person using one ofÂ traditional handlooms.Each piece in her collection is meticulously made by hand, with some pieces taking over a week to weave.. She partnered with a denim mill in Spain for Spring 2016.

Micro-pleated denim is her take on the combo of formal and not so formal looks !. Denim jackets have been particularly chiseled , as it may, on a piece of statue with long flowing robes made out of denim yarns. In this age of volumes and numbers , it is very difficult to find a designer dedicated to traditional methods of production to bring out a modern wardrobe.

MM6 Maison Margiela SSâ€™16

Disruptive warehouse parties in the industrial techno dens of London is the backdrop for the MM6 Maison Margiela SSâ€™16 collection. The models were more of club kids ready for long nightÂ party. He had fun mixing the fabrics to create impactful yet simple pieces.

Ashish Gupta , the designer from India, first showed at LFW in 2005 and went on to win the New Generation award three times. Having studied from Central St. Martin, he lost his entire portfolio of work and cash at Gare Du Nord in 2000 and had big career setback and started making clothes for friends butÂ was noticed by Yeda Yun â€“ one of Londonâ€™s best fashion names and the rest , as they say , is history. He showed at London Fashion Week 10th time this year.

Female models had a tough time strutting down on the ramp on skateboards as required by himÂ andÂ his denims pieces were cutouts or had patchworks/ embellishments . The concept of draped denim seems to be one of the highlights of many designers â€“ opening way for further usage of lighter denims .

Marc Jacobs SPRING 2016 READY-TO-WEAR

NY Fashion week brings collections from some of the high end and cool designers together at one place. Many of these designers are exuberant and glamorous. Marc Jacobs is one such designer. This season he brought out in catholic tendencies and orientations and the effect could be seen on his collection with denim used for flowing gowns and dresses and Victorian age looks. A fresh uptake for the denim industry !
