India beats other countries during the pandemic times to be the largest exporter of denim fabrics to Colombia during March- April 2020. We analyze the same in this report besides listing major denim fabric importers in COLOMBIA during the months of March-April, 2020, and analyzed the volume and average price along with the countries from where they are buying. TOP 10 COUNTRIES SUPPLYING DENIM FABRICS TO COLOMBIA

In the month of March-April 2020, Colombia has imported approx. 5.76 million sqm of denim fabrics.
CHINA, which was the biggest exporter of Denim Fabric to Colombia, came at #2 during March-April 2020. China exported 1.44 million sqm of denim fabrics at an average price of $1.54/sqm however India on the other hand with 54.46% share came at #1 with a volume of 3.14 million sqm of denim fabric at a very low price of $1.20 / sqm. Mexico comes a distant third followed by Brazil , Pakistan etc.
(Note: this data has been captured from various govt organizations including customs. the actual imports are likely to be higher than this figure .)

As far as the average price is concerned, India’s average price turned to be the most competitive amongst all. Mexico exported the fabric at the most expensive average price of USD 2.42/Sqm.
India became #1 with 54% share and China slipped to #2 with a substantial fall and its share reached up to 25%
TOP 10 DENIM IMPORTING COMPANIES OF COLOMBIA
So far as the import of denim fabric by different companies are concerned, COLOMBIANA DE COMERCIO SA and JOHN URIBE E HIJOS SA are the biggest importers of denim fabric into Colombia with the total import of 0.88 million sqm and 0.54 million sqm of denim fabric respectively. PERMODA LTDA is the buyer which has imported the denim fabrics at the most expensive average price i.e., $2.55/sqm.

COLOMBIANA DE COMERCIO SA
COLOMBIANA imported 8,83,870 sqm of denim fabrics during the period of Mar-Apr 2020 and it got many suppliers on board. Out of many suppliers, Sangam from India emerged as the biggest supplier with the export volume of 419,929 sqm and MANOMAY TEX is the second biggest supplier from India with the total volume of 174,512 sqm. The average price at which Sangam India supplied was $1.09/sqm and Manomay Tex supplied at $1.05/sqm.
The Company’s line of business includes the wholesale distribution of piece goods and yard goods of natural and manmade fibers.
