Diesel Fall Winter 2013 Women’s Denim Lookbook

We had previously posted the FWâ€™13 lookbook of Diesel Menâ€™s Denim . The cool collectionâ€™s central characteristic was dark and grey colors, other colors â€“ color mutations as Diesel calls it and some classic indigo redesigned. The womenâ€™s lookbook is also directed on similar lines with Black and Gray mutations, color mutations and some vintage pieces created with different indigo looks. Of course, the women collection is more girlish , though seemingly no-nonsense looks.

Black and Gray Mutation :-

The black and gray mutations bring out the darker and grey cast colors for women as well. Light greys, stripes , laser prints are all part of this collection.

COLOR MUTATION : –

Mutation of colors brings out some bright reds, purple, dark turquoise and some cool mixes of browns/beige color with greys at the seams.

INDIGO & VINTAGE :-

The Indigo vintage seems to be the collection on which Diesel seems to have worked very hard. They say

G-Star A-Crotch Jeans Collection

The A-Crotch jeans from G-StarÂ is a Pierre Morriset (head designer) 3D original re-released in a new, more tapered fit. These jeans are inspiredÂ by a horse-riding pant and has an extra panel in the inner leg and a dart at the knee for maximum freedom of movement and a bowed silhouette. The pant takes its name from the letter â€˜Aâ€™ formed by the seams in the leg. The new A-Crotch is available in both a 5-pocket and salopette, accompanied by an entire range of A-Crotch shirts and jackets. Some of the features of these jeans are :

3D Construction
In contrast to conventional flat denim with simple leg construction, the A-Crotch has an extra inner leg panel and a dart at the knee. This construction creates the â€˜Aâ€™ symbol from which the pant takes its name and createsÂ a more ergonomic fit and distinctive profile.
Back Pockets
The rear looks different !. To reflect the pants unconventional design, the rear pockets of the A-Crotch are angular and exaggerated. Each pocket carries the symbol of the A-Crotch: the letter â€˜Aâ€™ in contrast double-stitch.

A Complete Line The iconic A-Crotch has now been translated into an entire range of denim shirts and jackets. Every piece includes the distinctive A-Crotch pocket and 3D construction.

TheÂ 3D approach that started with the G-Star Elwood in 1996, the original A-Crotch was introduced in 2000. The panel inserted on the inside of the leg creates a 3D silhouette, which is further articulated by the horizontal seam (a dart) on the inside leg panel.

The following jeans in a high density broken twill with a red-blue cast. The destroyed finish features repaired holes with paint, rust and oil spot, and fray and abrasion at pockets and fly.
Loose fit: Loose fit at waist and hip, with wide leg from thigh to knee. Long rise at front and back.
Fabric: 3×1 right hand twill, 12 oz. 100% cotton. Medium aged destroy.

Womens

A-CROTCH 3D LOOSE TAPERED WMN

There are also A-Crotch designs for the womenÂ with elongated back pockets and unique A-line construction for a sturdy feminine look.In a dark aged denim with good stretchability and recovery. The denim features a special deep blue green cast derived from the combination of dark gray weft, blue warp and colour coating applied to the surface.Loose tapered fit: Loose fit at waist, hip and thigh; tapered from knee to ankle. Low waist and dropped crotch.
Fabric: Comfort shell denim, ring/ring spun 3×1 right hand twill. 9.75 oz. 98% cotton and 2% elastane.
Wash: Dark aged.

The surface of this next 3D raw denim is deep and saturated blue with a red cast. This quality offers a clean and contemporary look with an excellent stretch and recovery.
Loose tapered fit: Loose fit at waist, hip and thigh; tapered from knee to ankle. Low waist and dropped crotch.
Fabric: 3×1 right hand twill. 10.5 oz. 92.5% cotton 6% polyester 1.5% elastane. 3D raw

Diesel Fall Winter 2013 Men’s Denim Collection

We had mentioned about the Diesel F/Wâ€™13 lookbook in our earlier articles , now we will have a look at their full menâ€™s collection released for the Fall. The main and untiring focus of Diesel has been to play around with darker shades and this Fall the focus is even more sharp with the collection having a number of jeans with Black and grey mutations of indigo. They also play with colors other than indigo â€“ brick red,

Black and Gray Mutation

Mutation is taken to the next level and denim evolves into still darker shades. From the lighter greys to the darkest laser skinned wash innovations are all used to complete the Black and gray mutation collection.

Notice how the indigo seems to be pushing its way out of seams and fly and , sort of , refusing to accept the domination of the grey color on the rest of the jeans. Just superb!

Just note the amazing 3D cloud outline , sort of doodles , made on the jeans â€“ most probably with lasers. The jeans just stands apart.

COLOR MUTATION

Color mutation is all about denim changing its skin. Classic indigo evolves into treated colors, whether a laser print, a triple foaming, a fade color treatment or a new technique of coating. Different shades of blues, brick reds and even white are used.

Frankie B is a denim brand for the edgy and unabashedly sexyÂ body-confident woman. Based out of L.A, the brand launched by Daniella in 1999 is a quintessential low rise denim brand.

The Fall winterÂ â€˜13 lookbook has some great pieces in skyscraper and star prints, coated sheens, a touch of colors, super dark blacks, greys and more. Each season, the brand develops the most interesting fabrics with the best mills from around the world. Denim is sourced from US, Japanese and Italian mills whereas materials like hand waxed leathers come from Italy. Every garment is cut, sewn and finished using the best methods available. Some itemsÂ can evenÂ take a few days to make. Eg the shirts are sewn using single needle construction. LMC tries to use indigo and denim in new and unexpected ways. Their denim is hand finished by the best laundries in the world.

Miles Johnson, the design director of LMCÂ talks about the how their SS13 collection was named â€œ Painted Desertâ€ and how the elements of desert were incorporated in this collection. The inspiration from deserts translates into vibrant desert colors of sand or of setting sun or of blazing fire bringing out an interesting collection in different fabrics including selvedge denims with neps, desert colored jeans, irregular texture of sand represented through various kinds of washing effects â€“ even using tie and dye â€“ and many more experiments. Prints have been used to bring out desired desert looks in many pieces.
